At the heart of my work as a somatic counselor and guide is a simple belief: healing unfolds when the conditions are right. Just as a seed already contains everything it needs to become a tree, each of us carries an innate intelligence toward wholeness. My role is not to control that process, but to cultivate the conditions in which it can naturally emerge. When people feel truly safe, seen, and supported, healing and growth begin to unfold in their own time, opening the way to greater fulfillment, creativity, and happiness.

Weaving Together Indigenous Wisdom and Psychotherapy

The Mazatec tradition of sacred mushroom ceremony has deeply shaped my work. I am honored to be part of the lineage of Julieta Casimiro Estrada of Huautla de Jiménez, Oaxaca, Mexico, where I have participated in ceremonies and received teachings from Julieta and her daughter, Eugenia, over many years. Their deep connection with nature, reverence for the medicine, generosity, and devotion have profoundly influenced my practice. Integrating indigenous ceremonial wisdom with contemporary therapeutic approaches, I offer a carefully held space where you can open, listen deeply, and connect with your own life force and inner wisdom. I accompany you through the psychedelic journey, from preparation to integration, supporting you in exploring your experience and weaving its insights into your life.

My therapeutic work is rooted in Hakomi Somatic Psychotherapy and other trauma-informed somatic modalities that honor the wisdom of the body. Guided by Buddhism and Buddhist psychology, my approach is gentle, intuitive, and grounded in deep presence, somatic awareness, and respect for your unique pace and process.

What We May Explore Together

You may come to this work when you feel ready to:

  • Understand and gently release unconscious beliefs and protective patterns that no longer serve you.

  • Heal past or intergenerational wounds and trauma and move through important life transitions.

  • Cultivate greater self-compassion, authenticity and creativity.

  • Deepen your relationships with yourself, others, and the world.

  • Prepare for or integrate a psychedelic experience and explore its deeper meaning in your life.

  • Explore a spiritual path and a deeper understanding of the mystery of life.

Testimonial

Testimonial:

"I came to Mei during a very difficult time in my life. I was quite depressed, confused and feeling stuck. Through working with Mei, we were able to find an appropriate healing method that addressed my childhood wounds and trauma. Mei was consistently professional and held space for me beautifully. It was apparent to me early on that she is a very kind person who truly wants to help people who are in crisis or in deep suffering. She helped me see things I didn't consider before and through the period that we worked together, I was able to heal and release the wounds and traumas I experienced in a very safe manner.  I would not hesitate to reach out to her again if I need assistance in healing any trauma or wounds."

- Ann

"I appreciated the chance to work with Mei. She was insightful, caring, and open-minded, and offered me great help and support at a difficult time for me. I enjoyed getting to see her, and it was very valuable to be pointed in the right directions for my healing."

- Dave

About Mei

I grew up in China near Mount Emei, one of Buddhism's most sacred mountains and a pilgrimage site for over thirteen centuries. Surrounded by its natural beauty and rich spiritual heritage, I developed an early reverence for nature, ancient wisdom, and the mysteries of human experience. From a young age, I was driven by curiosity and a longing to explore both the outer world and the inner landscape of the soul. This passion for discovery led me to travel extensively and eventually settle in the San Francisco Bay Area, where my search for wisdom became a path of healing.
